Overcast throughout the day with patches of rain. 24C. Southerly winds to 18 knots. Seas <0.5m. 26.1C sea surface temperatures.
Another overcast day with some rain throughout. The day was lifted with the addition of a Kermadec Petrel at the drift. Atypical for this species, given our previous encounters, the bird hung around the boat for some time allowing everyone excellent views and photographic opportunities. It also allowed close comparisons with both Providence and Grey-faced Petrels.
(Note that the numbers in parentheses represent the approximate maximum number of that species in view at one time)
